ECS is an acronym for Electronic Stability control. It is an electronic system that monitors sensors in the vehicle to detect the lost of traction. When this happens the system applies the brakes on individual wheels to help the vehicle go the way the drive intended it to go. It uses sensors in the steering column along with accelerometers, and wheel speed sensors to accomplish this. ESC is required in the us starting in model year 2012
