SBC is an acronym for Small Block Chevy. It is the smaller v8 engine produced starting in 1955. It is one of the most common V8 engines ever producedĀ at 100,000,000 units. GM finally fazed out the SBC and replaced it with the LS series engine. An easy way to tell a SBC and BBC apart is to look at the exhaust ports, the BBC has exhaust port that are evenly spaced and the SBC has the two inner ports on either side closer together.
