Direct injection is becoming very popular for number of reasons but few people know what it means.

Direct injection is when the gas is injected directly into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. In the past the gas has came from a carbonator and through the intake along with the air. Then fuel injection replaced carburetors as a much more precise method of regulating fuel delivery, only to be replaced by direct injection.
